A pianist like no other.
And, I mean, just look at this face!
Arcan Kündük was born in 1987 in Turkey. His engagement with music began at an early age in Izmir Radio Children's Choir. He began his formal education at Izmir Isilay Saygin Anatolian Fine Arts Highschool. In 2005, he was accepted to Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory, where he studied composition with Turgay Erdener, Serdar Mukhatov and Mehmet Can Özer, took conducting classes from Burak Tüzün and honed his skills as a pianist under the experienced tutelage of Yasemin Marlalı. He has participated in masterclasses of prominent musicians such as Ladislav Kubik, Stephen Gryc, Robert Carl, Nigel Clark, Ibrahim Yazici and Pierre Boulez.
After he completed his education as an honour student, he was invited to work in the same conservatory as a guest professor, which he did for two years until he was accepted to Hochschule für Musik und Theater München for his master studies, where he studied with Hans-Jürgen von Bose and Isabel Mundry. Kündük has played in numerous solo, ensemble and orchestral concerts and his music has been played in various festivals across Europe and Turkey. His piano trio Gift of Eris has been recorded by Trio Siciliano and his solo flute piece Old Love Story: Pan has been printed by Diaphonia Edizioni.
