Jonathan Reuveni

Born in 1997, Jonathan Reuveni received his first Cello lesson from Emeric Kostyak, later he studied with Stephanie Meyer at the Klasse für Studienvorbereitung der Musikakademie Basel.

As a soloist and chamber musician he has won many competitions, e.g. 2011 the first price “mitAuszeichnung” and several special prizes in the final of the Schweizer Jugend Musikwettbewerb with the Sereno Quartett, a second price and another special in the final of “Jugend musiziert” 2013 as a soloist, first price solo in Sjmw 2014 in Lausanne, the first and second audience price of Moritzburg festival academy 2015.

He is very active as a chamber musician and a soloist, having recently performed Shostakovichscello concerto No. 1 with the Bad ReichenhallPhilharmonic orchestra and Markus Bosch. In 2021 he will play Beethovens triple Concerto with the Junge Sinfoniker Basel.

In 2018 he was supported by the Hans Huber Stiftung, 2020 he got the “Deutschlandstipendium”.

Jonathan Reuveni has attended masterclasses by Wolfgang Böttcher, Frans Helmerson, Jan Vogler,Amaryllis Quartett, Wen-Sinn Yang, Peter Bruns, Arto Noras and more.

Currently he is studying in the University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich with Prof. Maximilian Hornung.

He has privately taught now for several years. In 2016 he spent half a year in Brazil, teaching chamber music, piano, singing and cello to the local community.
